COYOTE EMPIRE, 2018
Shaped canvas, acrylic, canvas, wood structure.
Dimensions: 144”H x 84”W x 24”L
Description:
Borrowing from ancient monumental archeological sites that depict deities, COYOTE EMPIRE captures a remake in canvas, painted to look like a large-scale wood-carving. The coyote as a subject derives conceptually as an homage to Joseph Beuys’s, “I Like America and America Likes Me”.
The concept of coexistence with other species brings an awareness of our pack/tribal sociological fundamental existence.
