Adapting drawing to printmaking for Packer was natural. The physical manipulation of a surface attracted him to etching copper plates. Inspired by David Hockney’s skill as a draftsman, visual story teller and print master Packer sought after other print masters to hone his skill. Over his career he has worked with Otis Tomasouskis, Terry Ryan and the Cape Dorset artists, Stanley William Hayter, Robert Blackburn and Mark Callen.
